- Make sure that his initial books are of larger and clear prints
- Make sure that your child room gets abundance of natural light and air and during night sufficient light falls on the book he is reading or seeing
- Be sure that the child is not putting any strain on his eyes. While watching television, lighting in the room should be soft and indirect
- Make sure that your child watches television from at least 8 feet of distance
- If your child is having some trouble in focusing, consult an ophthalmologist immediately. If spectacles are advised get a pair as soon as possible
- Sometimes the child may develop squint suddenly; it can be treated if attended at once
