Staring for long time at the computer will cause your eyes to get strained. Eyestrain symptoms can be a headache or itchy or tired eyes. Focusing on the computer or on small objects for too long will cause the eyes to strain. Here are some ways which will help you relieve the strain on your eyes.
- Relax your eye muscles by shutting your eyes and relaxing for little time.
- Roll or blink your eyes, close them tightly for a few seconds.
- Change your focus every 15-30 minutes. Look in another direction, or across the street, or change from looking at the computer.
- Rub your hands together and place your palms on your eyes. The warmth will soothe the strain.
- Use a tear product to moisturize your eyes when they get dry.
- Make sure to get outdoors, in the natural light a few times during the day.
- Closing your eyes and relaxing usually relieves eyestrain.
- Make sure you have plenty of vitamin A in your diet.
- Occasionally splash some cold water on your face. This will give you a refreshed feeling.
- Look at something soothing. If there is greenery outside your window look at the refreshing view for a period of time.
- You can also place cucumber on your eyes this is very refreshing and cooling.
If after trying these methods you still suffer from discomfort of your eyes, contact your eye Doctor and make an appointment for an eye examination.
