Yes. Generally, contact lenses are prescribed to children who are 12 years old, but even those between the ages 8 to 12 can handle them well. They were quite glad to wear contact lenses as compared to glasses. The overall correction was better and they were able to perform more easily in activities such as sports, dancing etc. Looking good was not the only criteria, but practicality was the main reason for using contact lenses.

Children can take care of their contact lenses. It is not hazardous for them to wear them. They are also able to wear them and take good care of them. Parents of course do need to ensure that they did not face any problems with them. Children are quite comfortable with disposable contact lenses. They need not be cleaned on a daily basis and be disinfected.

Why Children Like Wearing Contact Lenses?

Children can go in for contact lenses. They would prefer them to regular spectacles, which may appear unattractive. Parents should consult their physician and choose the appropriate contact lenses for their children. They should also assist them in wearing them and maintaining them.
