What To Do When Something Gets Into Your Eye

Posted on October 25, 2008 in Latest News

Sometimes particles get embedded in the eye tissue and are really very hard to remove from the eye. Blinking several times may also not help. At such times one shouldn’t panic and follow the following methods

1)    Close their eyes as gently as possible, blinking may cause the object to get embedded in the eyes more deeply, and may lead to an infection.

2)    Rinse your eye, with water. You could do this by pouring some water in the eye or cupping your hands with water and putting your eye close to your cupped hands. This way the foreign particle will be washed away from the eye.

3)    Consult your doctor as the doctor has certain instruments, which can help dislodge the foreign particle from your eye.

4)    Do not rub your eye, no matter how much you are tempted to do so.

5)    Do not let others touch and fiddle with your eye, when you are already suffering from irritation with the foreign object.

6)    Do not try to remove the foreign particle on your own. You may cause more damage to your eye.

Keep these points in mind and keep your eye healthy and  safe.
