Headache behind the eyes can be due to a variety of problems. This can arise when cornea and lens fail to work together to focus images properly on the retina. This can put extra pressure on the eye muscles lead to problems such as hyperopia, cluster headache, astigmatism or presbyopia. Sometimes sinus migraine, retinal migraine, opthalmoplegic migraine, etc can also lead to headache behind eyes. Whatever the cause, the end result is intense one-sided pain (most often) behind or around the area of the eye.
