Lasik is a type of surgery performed in the eye to correct disaffect of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. It is the surgery performed by ophthalmologist using laser beams. Photorefractive kerectomy is the most preferred method because it requires less time for the patient to recover and is less painful too.
Lasik Surgery Complications:
It has been seen that most of the complications in lasik surgery are found in dry eyes. Although most of the treatment of dry eyes likes artificial tears, prescription tears and punctual occlusion have been successfully treated.
Some are most common complications in lasik surgery are:
- Light sensitivity
- Starbursts or halos around light sources at night.
- Fluctuation of light activity.
- Dry eyes induced by dry eyes.
- Double vision
- Under correction or overcorrection.
- Wrinkles in the flap
- Debris or overgrowth under the flap.
- Macular hole
- Floaters
Apart from these nearly every surgery carry some kind of risk but it may or may not result in a complication.
Complications After Gas Bubble Eye Surgery:
Vitrectomy is the procedure of eye surgery in which a small pert or whole of the vitreous humor is removed. In the process of surgery an injection of gas is injected in the eye. This removes the intraocular fluid from the posterior part of the globe while maintaining the intraocular pressure which temporarily holds the retina in its place.
The common complications during this surgery are infections which could result in retinal detachment. Another common complication is increase in high intraocular pressure, bleeding from the eyes, and cataract.
